Introduction

The 2024 International Engineering Congress, presented by the Federation of Engineering lnstitutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP), is a newly established high-level international conference in the field of engineering. The core purpose of the Congress is to transcend organizational limitations, catalyze the exchange of ideas, resources and knowledge, and expedite the pace of innovation. It is dedicated to promoting international cooperation in areas such as engineering education, emerging technologies, innovation, and the development and mobility of engineering professionals.

The 2024 International Engineering Congress (the 2024 IEC or the Congress) is scheduled to be held from November 8 to 9 2024 in Taizhou, China, focusing on the theme of Sustainable Engineering for Better Future. Representatives from more than 30 countries and regions in Asia-Pacific, Africa and Latin America, including Islamic countries, leaders of around 40 international engineering organizations, as well as representatives from corresponding UN entities and well-known international scientific and technological organizations will be invited to attend the Congress. It is an international academic feast in the engineering field, enabling more engineers to exchange ideas and learn from each other.

The 2024 IEC comprises a plenary conference and three FEIAP professional committee meetings, aiming to build an exchange platform for notable speakers and industry experts to share valuable experiences and best practices in the engineering field from various countries, enable more engineers to achieve their aspirations and realize their dreams, and encourage them to participate in global governance of science and technology.

About Taizhou
Taizhou is located in the middle coastal area of Zhejiang Province, bordering East China Sea in the east, Wenzhou in the south, Lishui and Jinhua in the west, and Shaoxing and Ningbo in the north. With a total land area of 10,050.43 square kilometers and territorial sea and inland waters area of 6,910 square kilometers, Taizhou enjoys exceptional advantages in its geographical location. The city is seated against the mountains and in face of the sea, where plains alternate with hills, forming the pattern of “70% of mountains, 10% of waters and 20% of farmlands". The topography tilts from the west to the east, with Yandang Mountain as the natural barrier in the south. Kuocang Mountain, Dalei Mountain and Tiantai Mountain are some of the major peaks. The main peak Mishailang of Kuocang Mountain elevates to 1,382.4 meters, the highest in the east of Zhejiang Province. Jiaojiang River runs from the west through the downtown area to the east, and eventually into the Taizhou Bay. In the coastal area there are three Great Plains such as the Jiaobei Plain, which serve as the major grain production areas of Taizhou. The coastline of the mainland is about 740 kilometers long. There are 928 islands, the coastline of which is nearly 941 kilometers long, and the land area is about 273.76 square kilometers. Main islands include Taizhou lslands and Dongi lslands. Yuhuan Island, the biggest island, is now connected with the mainland. The total population is 6,049,500, of which the urban population reaches 1,644,800. The urban area of Taizhou consists of Jiaojiang, Huangyan and Luqiao Districts. Taizhou also governs 3 county-level cities of Linhai, Wenling and Yuhuan, as well as 3 counties of Tiantai, Xianju and Sanmen.
